Simon  joins the practice in April 2009, having worked locally as a family dentist for the last 22 years. Simon has honed his skills over many years while in practice and undertaking various dental courses.

Simon will solely practice here at Warsash Dental Practice in order to take advantage of the state of the art equipment and the new facilities. Simon has a special interest in restorative dentistry and tooth whitening.

Simon is married with two children. He is a keen sportsman and regularly plays golf and tennis.

Dr Michael Edwards BDS(Bris.)

Mike qualified from Bristol University in 1996 and has worked mainly in general practice for 16 years. During which he has completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dental Practice at the Eastman in 2009 with Distinction (restoration and replacement of teeth).

He spent 5 years as a Clinical Tutor for King’s College London, supervising final year dental students on outreach at the University of Portsmouth.

Mike is currently undertaking an MSc in Endodontics at KCL to further his interest in root canal treatments. He also has significant experience with phobic and special needs patients having spent a year working for the Community Dental Service.

General hobbies-member of Sarisbury Athletic Cricket Club for the last 8 years, loves cycling and golf, keen chess player for Fareham Chess Club – won his section at the Portsmouth and Dudley Chess Congresses this year!!

Mike is married with two lovely daughters.

Luaan Graham BChD (Stell.) 2000, DPDS (Bris.)

Luaan qualified as a dentist from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 2000, moved to the UK immediately after qualifying and has been working here ever since. He joined the team at The Dental Centre in 2010. Luaan has a special interest in oral surgery

He supports the twice, World Cup Winning, Springboks Rugby Team and plays golf whenever he is allowed.

Luaan is married to his high school sweetheart and has two young children.

Christine Cheshire BDS ( Lond. 1981) MFGDP(UK)

Dentist

Christine qualified at Guy’s Hospital in 1981.She completed a series of house jobs in Maxillofacial surgery before she undertook a position at Shell International in London. After 10 years she became head of the Dental department and combined this with teaching at Guy’s and King’s Hospitals.  An opportunity to move to the south coast gave Christine a change in career direction and she moved into the private sector and combined this with teaching King’s dental students at Portsmouth Academy and work at Queen Alexandra Hospital within general anaesthesia.

Christine enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a special interest in advanced restorative techniques and oral surgery and has more recently developed her interest in implant surgery to enhance her restorative skills. She combines these roles with being a mother of four children.

In her spare time, Christine enjoys skiing and cycling.

Kathryn Bernowicz BDS ( Bris. ) MJDF

Kathryn originally for the Isle of Wight, Trained at Bristol dental school and qualified in 2010.

Hygienists

Kerry Wilby-Lopez EDH(Eastman)

Dental Hygienist

Kerry trained as a dental surgery assistant at Bristol Dental School qualifying with merit in 1999. After moving to London she trained as a Dental Hygienist at the Eastman Dental Hospital qualifying with merit in 2003.

As a dental hygienist Kerry has experience in treating adults with severe gum problems as well as children and special needs patients.

Kerry is married to George, they have two sons and a daughter.

Naomi Burden BSc (Portsmouth)

Dental Therapist & Hygienist

Naomi joined the practice in April 2009.  Naomi graduated in July 2008 from Portsmouth University’s School of Professionals Complimentary to Dentistry.

Naomi is dually qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist.  As a therapist Naomi can carryout all the duties of a hygienist as well as placing fillings in children and adult teeth.

Naomi works at the practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dental Hygienist

Penny Qualified at the Royal Naval Dental School Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Penny Has Been working in General Dental Practice for several years and has experience in long term care for patients with various degrees of periodontal problems.

Penny also assists in the organisation of local hygienist meetings and lectures. She is married and has two children
